Show Standards are not necessarily detrimental to animal welfare - The case for Koi Carp On the 19th August 2008 the BBC broadcast a programme entitled “Pedigree Dogs Exposed” claiming that: - “Dogs are suffering acute problems because looks are emphasised over health when breeding dogs for shows”. This paper is aimed at addressing any concerns regarding Koi, Koi Shows and the influence of Koi Show Standards.
